More About Me
A little insight into how and why I do what I do.

Hi, I'm Fiona, textile designer and owner of Candy Coated Accessories.

After completing my degree in Constructed Textiles at Duncan of Jordanstone College of Art and Design in 2003,  I founded Candy Coated to give me a productive outlet for my skills in textile design.

While developing my business I also gained professional experience working at Johnstons of Elgin cashmere mill as an accessory designer. For the next seven years I worked with many high end clients and brands. Looking for a change in pace I then became the merchandise buyer and designer at BrewDog Brewery. The contrast between a traditional working environment and a very modern fast paced business has really given me the experience to now be able to take Candy Coated to the next level.

Now based in the North East of Scotland, in the fishing town of Fraserburgh, I design and develop all of my work in my small but perfectly formed home studio. Through utilising both my skills in knitting and sewing I have developed a varied collection of products. These range from fully reversible jacquard scarves, eye catching pom pom beanies, stylish twist headbands, super snuggly hot water bottle covers and so much more.

Bright colours and geometric patterns are my main inspiration which is reflected throughout my work. The mixture of modern design and traditional technique complement each other perfectly giving an overall cohesive collection.
